TYRANNOSAURUS REX
A BEARD OF STARS

You either loves it or detest it. You may like this exotic, not unpleasant music because these two men are excellent musicians, as are those in the Incredible String Band, but you can detest Marc Bolan’s voice, which some may consider a caricature of Donovan’s or Van Morrison’s: a slight organ which seems perpetually on the brink of catalepsy. Very curious.

On the other hand, it is not often you find so many tracks on an LP. The tracks are rather short and the lyrics, short poems by Marc Bolan, are well-crafted, (they are printed on a sheet of paper included inside) and will force you to revisit your ancient English courses.

‘Elemental Child’ is probably the most pop-like piece on the album, and also the longest. It is practically an instrumental which does not much resemble anything which has preceded it (as it is my favourite, I deduce that I’m not quite ready yet for Tyrannosaurus Rex’s music. Maybe you are?)” J.C.
